Barclay Gardens, Donnington Telford   A joint venture between Bromford Carinthia Housing Association, Coverage Care (Shropshire) Ltd and Telford and Wrekin Council to create the core building of a care village Phase 1 was the demolition of a day centre and its replacement by a block of 16 flats. These were designed as being self-contained but configured initially as shared bed sit accommodation to allow residents of the existing blocks of bed sit flats These were replaced with a two storey building designed around a central courtyard accommodating a 40 bed residential care home, 20 of which were designed as an EMI unit, plus a further 8 self-contained sheltered flats. The residential accommodation was complemented by dining rooms, catering kitchen, lounges, activity rooms and other accommodation The project was constructed by Jessup Brothers Ltd and completed in March 2003
